08.10.2003. - Were elected members ( Una Ulme Sila, Aida Predele, Peteris Bankovskis, Aivars Berkis, Imants Skrastins, Imants Rakins(second term) of National Radio and Television Council by Saeima.

06.11.2000. - LETA informed: Mr. Andrejs Feldmanis becomes the ownwer of 75% of radio "MIX FM 102,7". The news source for LETA was newspaper "Komersant Baltic". The price of deal should be ~ 400.000 - 600.000 $ wrote the newspaper.
10.10. 2000. - LETA informed: Ltd. "Grafton Entertainment" - establish of news and Internet TV portal in Baltics "TVNet" becomed the owner of 75% of TV broadcaster Ltd. "TV Riga". Ltd. "Grafton Entertainment" was established by in Dublin, Ireland registered "Grafton Entertainment Corporation Limited".
01.09. 2000. - LETA informed: from today inhabitants of Lavia have choice to tune TV 3 (version from Latvia) digitaly from satellite. (VIASAT)

11.08.2000. - LETA informed: Estonian "Lehmus Haavel & Viisemann" sold 51% stocks of Estonian TV1 to "Polsat". Other 49% of stocks "Polsat" control through self ownwed Latvian TV channel LNT . "Polsat" owned TV channels in Baltic states have ~8 million potentional viewers.
10.08.2000. - Ltd. "VERNISAZA TV" made agreement with Latvian Radio for renting broadcasting time in Riga's 107,7 MHz from 13.00 to 06.00. National Radio and Television Council allowed not renting.
xx.xx.2000. - AKKA/LAA (the only author rights agency in Latvia) won courts between agency and some radio broadcasters. In result -broadcasters must to make agreements with agency and to pay about 5 to10% from income for music broadcasting. It seems - broadcasters will reduce profit by redirectoring it to other by self established enterprise.

20.03.2000. - Extraordinary session of the National Radio and Television Council The guestion was to start or not to start discussions with General director of Latvian TV with the target to end from both sides job agreement. The desicion was not to start.

Outdor - 5,6%; journals - 7,5%; radio - 15,6%; TV - 29%; newspapers - 39,5% from. Bigger diference (all - negative 11%) from the saim in 98' : TV - negative 13%. Radio diference - 0%. TV programes (cable and terrestrial) advertising revenue share in 1999 was: LNT - 64,2%; LTV1 - 18,6%; TV 3 - 6,2%; ORT (Russian public TV) - 8,4%; LTV 2 - 2,7%.

Reason was broadcasted programs Radio Bizness Baltija discrepancy to the Law and to the programs conception. (foreign language % up 25%( using programs of RUSSKOJE RADIO in russsian language) and hving no recordings of broadcasted program in period 1 month)
15.02.2000. - News agenture LETA informed, than The Transport Ministery's Departament of Communications announced competition to get rights to build magistral (united) cable TV network in Riga.
07.01.2000. - Newspaper DIENAS BIZNESS wrote than strategic investor from Holland invested 10 mil. USD to found in february Baltic Media Holding. s/c ''Latvijas Neatkariga Televizija'' (Latvian Independent TV) bought 49% of Estonian TV 1. Also Polsat bought 51% of Lietuvas Baltijos TV stocks to take part in new holding. The potential TV holding will ttake about 8 mil. potential TV audience.
